Training and Certification in the Responsible Conduct of Research

To meet the requirements of the America COMPETES Act of 2007* Duke University undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral associates and scholars supported by research funds from NSF* and/or by training funds from NIH* are required to participate in training programs on the RCR*.

A series of programs have been designed for each of these constituencies. Please click on a constituency below.

University Faculty are actively involved in teaching and mentoring of all students and postdoctoral employees through these programs and through discipline specific departmental programs.

Under the direction of the Vice Provost for Research, the system for identifying individuals for whom RCR* training is required and verifying their compliance is administered by the Assistant Director for Compliance, CCP*, ORS*.
